Comrade Sola Adigun has officially assumed office as the new National President of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), Nigeria, following a unanimous election during the union’s National Delegates Conference held in Abuja.

Adigun was sworn in alongside other elected members who now make up the National Administrative Council (NAC) of the union, representing various regions across the country.

In his acceptance speech, President Adigun urged secondary school teachers in Nigeria to fully exercise their right to freedom of association by actively supporting ASUSS, which he emphasized is uniquely positioned to advocate for the rights and interests of secondary education professionals. He also called on union members to remain united and avoid actions that could create divisions within their ranks.
