Nigeria’s educational sector has witnessed another historic milestone with the appointment of Professor Segun Aina as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. At 39 years old, Prof Aina becomes the youngest person ever appointed to occupy the office, succeeding Professor Is-haq Oloyede whose tenure ends on July 31, 2026. He will turn 40 in July 2026.

Prof Aina hails from Otan Ayegbaju in Boluwaduro Local Government Area of Osun State. He is the son of Professor Olu Aina, an emeritus professor of Technical and Vocational Education and Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Universities Commission (NUC).
