Members of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools, Ekiti State Chapter, have continued to celebrate the outstanding leadership legacy of Comrade ‘Sola Adigun, describing his tenure as one marked by vision, structural transformation, accountability, and unwavering commitment to members’ welfare.

The commendation was contained in a statement signed by Comrade Omodara Oluwaseun Lawrence, who praised Adigun for what he described as unprecedented achievements recorded during his administration in the union.

According to the statement, Comrade Adigun’s tenure stands out as a shining example of purposeful leadership, dedication to service, and commitment to the growth and progress of ASUSS in Ekiti State.

The statement noted that one of the defining achievements of his administration was the strengthening of the union’s structure from the State Administrative Council down to the Local Administrative Councils across the state.

Through strategic coordination and effective leadership, the union’s framework reportedly became more organized, functional, and responsive to the needs of members at various levels. This, members said, significantly improved communication, accountability, and operational efficiency within the union.

Another major highlight of his administration was the construction of the ASUSS State Secretariat, described as a landmark achievement symbolizing institutional stability, growth, and pride for the union.

The statement described the secretariat project as more than just a physical structure, noting that it represents Adigun’s foresight, determination, and desire to establish a lasting foundation for future generations of union leaders and members.

Comrade Adigun was also commended for prioritizing members’ welfare during his tenure. According to the statement, welfare packages were improved, support systems strengthened, and members’ concerns consistently represented under his leadership.

“His administration demonstrated uncommon concern for members’ welfare, making the well being of members a top priority,” the statement said.

Perhaps one of the most notable initiatives introduced during his administration was the establishment of a life insurance policy for members, an initiative described as unprecedented in the history of the union in the state.

The policy, according to the statement, provided security, reassurance, and hope for members and their families, reflecting Adigun’s commitment not only to professional advancement but also to the overall well being and future of teachers.

Beyond infrastructural and welfare achievements, his tenure was equally characterized by transparency, inclusiveness, accountability, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

The statement further noted that his leadership inspired confidence among members, fostered unity within the union, and established a standard that would remain a reference point in the history of ASUSS Ekiti State.

It also highlighted his emergence as National President of ASUSS in May 2025, noting that his election came after years of distinguished service in various capacities within the union’s National Administrative Council.

Observers within the union described his rise to the national leadership position as a reflection of the confidence reposed in his leadership qualities, administrative competence, and longstanding dedication to the union movement.

The statement concluded by describing Comrade Adigun as a builder of people, a defender of teachers’ interests, and a visionary leader whose impact would continue to inspire generations within the education sector and the trade union movement.
