LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT: TUC, CONUA PARTNER WITH LAGOS BUSINESS SCHOOL

In a bid to enhance leadership capacity and promote academic excellence, the Congress of University Academics (CONUA) has partnered with the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) and the Lagos Business School (LBS) for a Leadership Enhancement Program.

The program, which held from October 10 to 12, 2024, was attended by ASUSS and CONUA representatives and culminated in a graduation ceremony graced by TUC President, Comrade Festus Osifo.
Some ASUSS leaders across the country who are members of TUC NEC attended the leadership enhancement program at the prestigious Lagos Business School. Among them was the ASUSS National President, Comrade Sam Omaji, Vice President, Comrade Akeem Lasisi, National Secretary General, Comrade Sola Adigun, Financial Secretary, Comrade Ibrahim Garba, among others.

This strategic event underscores CONUA's commitment to capacity building and collaboration with renowned institutions. By investing in leadership development, CONUA aims to strengthen its advocacy for Nigeria's academic community.

According to CONUA officials, the program aimed to equip participants with essential leadership skills, strategic thinking, and effective communication.

"TUC is dedicated to empowering union leaders and members to drive positive change in Nigeria," said Comrade Osifo.

CONUA, a prominent union representing Nigerian university lecturers, has been at the forefront of advocating for academic excellence and educators' rights.

The Lagos Business School, a leading institution in business education, brought its expertise to the program, providing a unique learning experience for participants.
